Hi,
I have a Brookite 410 Velocity foil kite.
I have flown this kite a few times and found that the kite does not stay in the air for long.
I feel that the bridle is the problem.
I would like to modify the bridles.
I am flying the kite with two lines only.
Can anyone help me on how to modify the bridles
Thank U

Hey. Assuming you are flying with 4 lines. Perhaps you had the same little problem that I also had when I flew the Velocity out of the bag. You have to shorten the traction/power lines by about 45cm. You do this by removing the sleeve on the lines and slide it down and re-knot it. Quite simple.
To make sure that it is not a bridle problem simply fly the kite with 2 lines. This will debug the problem.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Thank u for the useful information.
I usually fly this kite with 2 lines only.
And when flying with 2 lines, the kite could not inflate full for long and does not stay in the air for long.
What I found was that I need to tie the brake line to the main lines even if I was to fly with 2 lines.(seeing the brake line with the kite did not appeal me at first that was why I did not connect the brake line)
Now I am able to fly the kite.
Thank U to all those for you who responded to my request for help.

Hello

I've just answered a similar post.

I didn't want to duplicate my reply but guests can't link things so here it is again...

Hello. I have both the Brookite Air Attack 360 and 460. The 360 came with only two lines and refused to fly (it would rotate anti clockwise on launch), and the 460 flew real slow like a matress with no power.

Anyhoo, there MAY be three knots on the bridle (if you look at the pigtail that your power lines attach to, attached to the other end of that there may be a U shaped three knotted pigtail {it goes; Joining knot from A bridle attached to the front of the kite - knot - knot - knot attached to A bridle from kite centre) and adjusting the Attack by either setting the power line pigtail on a lower knot 'towards the back' or more forwards.

You can put the Larks Head from the power line pigtail on any of the - (Dashed) - areas above.

Both my 360 and 460 have these settings unequal. In other words the left-hand pigtail on the 360 is set on the Middle knot, while the right-hand pigtail is set on the 'forward' knot (pulling the right-hand angle of attack down).

The 460 knot settings mean nothing at all as I have connected the pigtail to the knot joining the front A bridle (I'm sure I'm not supposed to, it'll no doubt weaken the lines) thus lowering the angle more than the facory settings.

If I use the Rear setting it pulls the centre of the kite and the leading edge flops backwards with no launch possible, the middle setting the same but less, the front setting is the mattress I mentioned.

So I took the pigtail as far forward as I could without taking a knife to the bridle and shortening the leading edge lines. It flys fast and steady, needs a lot (15+mph) of wind to shine, but when it does it turns on the brakes beautifully.

The 360 is the same only faster. I fly it on four lines only I need an awful lot of wind to get really decent static traction scuds out of it.

Brookite seem to have this problem with most of the kites I've seen that they have manufactured.

Play with those settings and you may be lucky!

I hope this helps.
