The weekend of November 4th and 5th B&S Kites of South Padre Island (South Padre's newest full service kite store) will be holding a family kite festival.
As of now there will be wonderful single line displays, stunt kite displays, Buggy displays as well as tandem rides, kite kayaking and door prizes, door prizes, door prizes!!!!! sponsors both on the island and in the kiting industry are being very generous and this will be a serious event (and nothing but fun fun fun).
Boy do they have door prizes, including but not limited to a Tori Tako Hawk III, dozens (or more!) of single line deltas, and not tiny toys either! (prizes will be changing and updating as the event approaches and may change up till event time.)
I am currently looking for an experienced workshop instructor to work with children in hand-making small single line kites. If you have the skills needed for such an event, contact me, there will be some perks in it for you, as well as that warm feeling of knowing you've helped progress the sport just a bit more. : )
I'm also in search of someone willing to demo kite surfing. The waters next to the flying area are very popular windsurfing waters and great for kite surfing.

Pack the family into the R.V., rent a room, fly/drive/swim/bike down, SPI is a beautiful tropical island full of shirtless hunks, bikini clad babes, beautiful beaches, cool breezes, clear ocean waters and tons of fun! Just the prettiest place in Texas! (and the Mexican border is just a hop away)
