Folks, I am really disappointed. We have 4 years to make something happen. When I see events like mountain biking, rythmic gymnastics (hoola hoops and ribbon) and (back yard) trampoline as olympic events. We have missed the boat! The only question I have is: will Frisbee beat kiting into the olympics as an event? It's played on a beach!!!

Go for the winter olympics, power kiting on ice would definitely give a thrill to those who enjoy watching home video goof up type tv shows...

Sorry for jumping away from kites, but Joe have you ever pedaled any distance (arbitrarily, say 2 miles) up hill then bombed down the other side at break neck speed (again, lets arbirtrarily say 20-30mph) while dodging rocks, trees, assorted small animals, etc. on a twisting sometimes sketchy dirt and rock trail? All the while trying to catch the guy in front of you, or drop the guys chasing you? For several laps? Skill, strength, endurance and a certain amount of disregard for life and limb (and the occasional tooth) are needed.

Now as for the other two, pffffftt!

As for frisbee, maybe ultimate. It's about on par with team handball. Frisbee Golf? The dozen or so people that I know who play spend more per month on pot than I do for food. I don't see them having the ambition (or passing the substance testing) required for that level of competition. LOL

I agree, It would be nice to see kites in the Olympics.
