I am happy, and proud, to announce the availability of an 'original' kiteplan on www.kitebuilder.com The award winning 'Grandson of Woodstock.' Admittedly, the published plan is not a step-by-step kite project for the novice. The sketches are a little rough, and the handwritien diagrams a bit difficult to read, , but all the information is available to build the kite. And Tony is always available for support if you need it. Accessible through the 'KiteStudio' section, check out the plan, the photos, and the history... I hope it holds your interest.

This is what kitebuilder.com is all about....... bookmark it now, stay tuned, and continue to check back for more info..... Contributions accepted.

Excerpt from the 'history' section: 'The “Grand-son of Woodstock,” created in September of 1997, features a 8 foot wide slimmed down version of the “Son” on the front, the “Monica” rotators for the middle, a deep dihedral large rudder tail for stability, and tail wings to balance the center of pressure. The combination proved to be effective with a very high flight angle and a wind range from 8 MPH to 30 MPH. The kite won 2nd place cellular at the 1997 AKA Convention in Wildwood, New Jersey, with a cracked tail spar caused by over 30 MPH winds at competition time, and then followed with a 1st place cellular win at the 1998 Smithsonian in Washington DC, after that rogue stick was replaced with a fatter one.........'

Sign our guestbook, let us know your thoughts...

enjoy,

~Steve

It's also accessible by going to the drop down menu on the Kitebuilder.com header, and clicking on Tony Ferrel.

We're so fortunate to have Tony contributing his plans and ideas to us here on the internet. What genius lurks in that man's head! *giggle*

And as Steve mentioned, contributions are sooo welcome. If you don't have a website of your own and have a kite plan you would like to see posted on kitebuilder.com please let us know!

I for one, would LOVE to see more wind art type plans - banners, feathers, wind toys, line junk, tails, etc. - posted to the internet.

Again thanks Steve and Tony for letting me be part of the growing KiteBuilder.com website! It's such a pleasure to see this tribute to both builders and their kites!
