Hi

Went to Southsea at the weekend & the wife (god bless her cotton socks) brought me a 3 meter NASA Power Wing. Well I normally fly kites with a little more finesse. So this brute was something new to play with.

To say I was dragged from one end of the arena to the other is an understatement, what a hoot. All I can say is my birthdays in Nov and Id like a buggy before I put all the backsides out in all my jeans.

Watch out for twigs and branches. they really hurt when the NPW is pulling you on the ground. I bought a buggy as it is far cheaper than new jeans every time you fly.

Yeah its a bit hard to tac upwind i know this i got a 6.9m NPW but my good friend Tom made a 11m one and this one pulls buggys very well up and down wind, but alas tonight on the top of the lickeys in not so sunny Birmingham UK all we really did was keep our blades and other kites dry under his 11m and my 6.9 npws...it worked a treat, hint of the day if it starts to pee down, get under that kite... Other than that i love my npw its slow and majestic in flight, once you master it that is ....as for pull holy moley it can pull a steam train im sure watch this space for details on our video release of us doing to quite cool tricks.....it will be on the site to view soon. regards Doc

tips for buggying with nasa's:

try pointing the buggy more at the kite than you would with a foil. i tried going upwind, pointing the buggy away from the kite but you just lose forward speed. i tried it with cybermoley's 6.9. no forward speed but you could feel the power going sideways then, BANG!! out the side you go!! if you point the buggy more at the kite you can get up some speed, probably as much as with a foil. unless there is loads of wind, you might have a bit of trouble getting back upwind. put the kite in a harness and walk!! we are still experimenting with the nasa's but we buggyed in light wind with the 11.5, we need bigger, anybody built a 20m?!? did it fly good!

Ahhh i remember the days when Tom wouldnt use my nasa due to its grace and beauty, now he builds and builds extremely well i may add, his 11m is very good indeed, but as he said we want big and really big, so whos got the biggest then, not that we want to get into a mines bigger than yours but we have access to lots of ripstop, and Tom's sewing machine, and time on our hands to build another, plus to be honest it stops Tom worrying the sheep round by his home...
