OH YEAH!

My success rate for the Fruit Rollup has increased from approx. 0,5% to 3% lately!!!

I recently got my hands on a (HQ) X-bow and I've sort of overcome the trouble I had with the Gemini to get a complete (backflip) rotation (yoyo?). With the X-bow I can do this yoyo pretty consistantly, and sometimes I get the lines in good position for the Fruit Rollup too! Putting a few twists in the lines before doing the yoyo really helps. (Thanks Ron K.!!!)

Timing the rest is a prety delicate action, but whan I get it rigt..... WOW!!! Dive, Panckace, Tug and then VOILA! The kite rolls up and ends up in a fade!

Hmmmm...... Gotta keep that success rate raising!

Sven,

I learned the fruit rollup on the Obsession '99. This kite is amazingly easy to do it on, it over-backflips into a wrapped state very easily. I now have a Gemini since two months and have learned a huge lot on it, but it's not very willing to over-flip as the OBS will. Last week I took out my OBS again, and I could do it right away, I'd say my succes rate would be 75% or so (which is more due to the kite than to me). Also, you can do this trick in very high wind. Once it's wrapped, the angle of incidence is such that even in ballistic wind it sort of slowly floats down, you half-pancake it, unwrap into a fade and... BOOOM right off into the sky (or the ground, whichever you hit first).

Very nice trick indeed,

Wim
