Yea right! Looks messy and who would want a big patch like that on such a small hole?.

Why not just cut the ripstop repair tape and stick it to the sail on both sides. http://www.citystar.com/hang-em-high/ushop/index.cgi? ID=WMGC9A&task=s...

I have never had my patches fall off and you can't see them unlerss you right on top of them. get the clear tape and it will match even the most faded colors.

Thanks but no thanks for you advise!

I don't fly kites, I abuse them... seriously... my kites don't last an entire season, many times. With very few exceptions, 75% of my flying is ground work, and any kind of tacky tapes collect *ground* and the corners start to peel. I have to sew the perimeter of even the sticky backed tape. This is a hassle and it shows even worse. Been there, done that ;-Þ

You can use a much smaller patch, too. Use the clear milar stuff, too, but the reflection will blind the stunt kite fliers across the field, and they have short tempers, you know Is there a ripstop with no pigment. *gawd, I want some. (Willing to pay *extra*

I think Jamey is stuck down in the Fiasco thread. Go figure

Aik's and Hamburger's replies didn't show up in my ISP's newsfeed. *gawd, that drives me mad

Thanks for the input. Happy full moon, Friday the 13th and all that jazz The Kid

That's Cheeseburger or ! Bugermeister; Not Hamburger!

If you cut the corners in a curve they don't peel.

The clear ripstop repair tape is in the link that I supplied.

Sorry to hear that your not getting this as you should.

Just for the record I have two kites that I put holes in them befor they even got off the ground. Opps!

Yep, sure, although in rain gear quite often (awesome winds come with light rain on the Washington coast).

I guess I meant a year when I said 'season'.

Is there a NON-sticky back ripstop with no pigment? I want it Are we reading what we are seeing? Must be Friday the 13th Can I get fries with that double whopper?
