Hi

I may finally have a Pfaff 1222 coming my way, but from the description it might need to be stripped of the old oil, which has turned to varnish.

Does anyone have/know where I could get hold of/know a better place to ask for a service manual?

All reasonable costs met...

Regards John (in the UK)

Silly Question and not wanting to put a nose or noses out of joint..

But what has a Sewing Machine (an old one at that) have to do with Kites?

Try going into Alders or Sears and pick up a new one.......

You philistine! Obviously not a kite maker then. And if you can find a source for a new Pfaff at a reasonable price, please post here, I'm sure there are many that would be eternally grateful.

Bryan, it would probably surprise you to find out just how many kites entered in the AKA kite maker comps were made on Pfaff machines (old ones at that).... This makes this thread Very much kite related.. As parts for these older machines are getting harder to source (even for Pfaff mechanics ordering through the company like myself) any information to help keep them up and running is appreciated by many.

I'm not sure I could face my friends if they heard I was sewing my kites on a Pfaff or Singer.....when I tell them that I use a Husqvarna model we all grunt approvingly in a masculine manner.....

triple zig-zagging my way into kiting history......

I've BEEN to Husqvarna. Does that count for anything? Bonus points if you can tell me the country (no fair Googling!)
