Tyvek - cant find a source..

Anyone know where I can get Tyvek by the roll?? All I've been able to find so far is by the yard.

Most home repair centers.... but a whole roll is rarther large.

Wow, a roll is way large I always get around 20 yards at a whack, and it lasts a long time.

I don't think you are going to be *happy* compromising with the *heavy* constuction grade, which is no doubt, much easier to find.

I always make my experiments scaled down from what I hope the *real* thing will look like... maybe half the size. Once you get the basic bugs worked out, you will want to make a ripstop version, weed out the buggy details, etc... sometimes you luck out and the ripstop version flys with only a few *snip and tuck* modifications, but many times you end up going back to the scaled down Tyvek experiment and completely redoing parts, by way of scissors and glue. I also don't recommend trying out graphics on Tyvek... very labor intensive... wait for the ripstop version.

You can also call Dupont at 1-800-44-TYVEK and asked them for the distrubutor plain Tyvek used in kite making. I don't recall the name of the company off hand. Dupont also makes 'Tyvek Sendables', which is preprinted Tyvek:
